Say,”O Allah,Owner of Sovereignty, You give sovereignty to whom You will and You take sovereignty away from whom You will. You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent.”Ṣadaqa Llāhu l-‘Aẓīm.
Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla says, the dominion belongs to Him جل جلاله. Everything is His .جل جلاله.He جل جلاله raises whom He جل جلاله wills and lowers whom He جل جلاله wills, says Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla. Why are we saying this?
Shukr to Allāh جل جلاله years ago, with the intention of being neighbors of Eyüp Sultan, as Mawlānā Shaykh Nāẓim said, we moved into several places to be there, to be neighbors and serve there. Ten years ago, there were some people who wanted to do conduct a deal. In return for that deal, we were supposed to receive a finished building. The agreement was that they take the job without having to pay anything out of their own pockets. We were supposed to move into a finished building. But with them stalling saying “today, tomorrow” they didn’t do it. When they didn’t do it, we did it elsewhere. Finally, shukr to Allāh جل جلاله, we now have this land and building from yesterday. It’s progressing step by step, shukr to Allāh جل جلاله
Why am I saying this? So, if the property belonged to those people – it means Allāh جل جلاله must have not destined it for them. At first, we were angry and upset about that. They didn’t keep their promises. We went back and forth. They kept stalling, “We could do it, we couldn’t do it.” So years passed.
Yesterday, shukr to Allāh جل جلاله, the building was almost finished, Masha’Allah. We said, Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla did not want this goodness for them. He جل جلاله did not want it. It means that property does not belong to them. Property belongs to Allāh جل جلاله. Through the small contributions of the brothers, murīds, the lovers, shukr to Allāh جل جلاله, this service will be completed and finished without needing them, in shā’a Llāh. That service will remain until the Day of Judgment, with Allāh’s جل جلاله permission. It is a waqf (endowment). It has been endowed for the sake of Allāh ‘Azza wa-Jalla until the Day of Judgment. The one who makes the waqf wins, he becomes Azīz (honored). And the one who doesn’t, that is, the one who makes a promise and doesn’t keep it, becomes Dhalīl (worthless). No matter how much he does, even if he owns the whole world, he is Dhalīl. Dhalīl means worthless, has no significance.
Therefore, one shouldn’t be angry. It is Allāh’s جل جلاله will. Whoever He جل جلاله wills becomes honored, close to Allāh جل جلاله, and in a high rank. Azīz means having a high rank, dignified, honorable and exalted. Dhalīl means lowness, insignificance, being worthless.
Therefore, there’s no need to be angry or annoyed about it. Everything should be left to Allāh’s جل جلاله. May Allāh جل جلاله make us among the honored (Azīz), among those who keep their promises. May He جل جلاله make us true owners of dominion. This dominion is the dominion of the Hereafter, not worldly dominion. Waqf that is for the pleasure of Allāh جل جلاله is His جل جلاله dominion. What matters is who He جل جلاله grants His جل جلاله dominion to.
May He جل جلاله grant us from His جل جلاله dominion that brings us honor, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh جل جلاله be pleased with us. May Allāh جل جلاله grant us all the opportunity to establish many more such endowments and charitable works, in shā’a Llāh. May Allāh جل جلاله be pleased with us. May Allāh جل جلاله make us all among His جل جلاله accepted servants. May He جل جلاله make us among those who give without fear, in shā’a Llāh.
Wa min Allāhi t-Tawfīq. Al-Fātiḥa.
