Laylat ul-Isra wa’l-Miraj  – 27th of Rajab

COMMEMORATING THE PROPHET’S RAPTURE AND ASCENSION TO HIS LORD

Praise be to Allah Who has chosen His praiseworthy servant Muhammad for the Message, distinguished him with the sudden rapture onthe Buraq, and caused him to ascend on the ladders of perfection to the high heavens to show him of the greatest signs of his Lord. He raised him until he reached to the Lote-tree of the Farthest Boundary where ends the science of every Messenger-Prophet and every Angel Brought Near, where lies the Garden of Retreat, to the point where he heard the sound of the pens that write what befell and what is to befall.

It is Laylatu-l Mi’raj and Mawlana is calling us to reach to our endless honor. We’ve been honored by being human and, even more, by being Muslim and from the Ummatu-l Habib (sas). The Prophet (sas) is the Imam of the Prophets and the Imam of the Angels. There is no limit to the dresses of honor granted to him and to his Ummat. O lover of Shahi Mardan, the Lion of Allah, become the lion you are meant to be. Why are Muslims killing each other? Because they did not keep the honor of their Prophet (sas) or the honor of being part of his Umma.

On this night Allāh Almighty sent Jibrā’īl (as) to invite the Prophet ﷺ to come to Him ﷻ. Many ignorant people claim it was a dream or a spiritual event but it was a journey in the body, out of time, approaching nearer to Allāh ﷻ than any other creation even Angels are able. The night is for praying and the day for fasting. Its reward is like 60 months of worship.
